100,000 euro seized by gardai who stopped vehicle on roundabout

Gardai have seized more than 100,000 euro as part of an ongoing investigation targeting serious criminal activity in Dublin.

The cash had been concealed in a vehicle which was stopped and searched on the M50 roundabout near Ballymun shortly before midnight on Saturday.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene and detained at Ballymun Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 but has since been released from custody without charge.

Gardai said a file was being prepared for the director of public prosecutions.
