Armed gang hunted over kidnapping

Detectives are hunting an armed gang after a botched tiger kidnapping.

A number of men forced their way into the house of a post office worker in Swords, north Dublin.

The woman and her husband were kept captive overnight at their St Andrew's Park home before she was ordered to go to the post office where she worked, in Balbriggan, and withdraw cash.

Gardai were alerted to the attempted robbery and the gang fled without taking any money.

The husband was released unharmed.

Gardai have appealed for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity at either St Andrew's Park or Balbriggan post office to contact them.
