Armer raiders target security van

Armed robbers made off with 20,000 euro after a cash-in-transit robbery.

A security worker was held up as he was delivering money to the post office on Main Street in Nobber, Co Meath.

One of the robbers threatened the delivery man with a firearm and demanded he hand over a box full of cash.

The attacker then fled along with an armed accomplice in a small white van in the direction of Navan.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident at around 10.10am.

The small white van was later found on fire at Whitewood Lake, Kilmainhamwood, gardai said.

It is believed that robbers got into a black car there, which is believed to have been driven by a third accomplice.

Investigators have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
