Bacteria: Beaches remain closed
Swimmers and surfers in Co Cork face another day of frustration following the closure of seven beaches over concerns about bacteria levels.
Recent weather conditions in the area are understood to have led to levels of E.coli in the water that are above EU limits.
The bacteria can cause sickness.
The beaches are popular with residents of Cork city and visitors from further afield.
Garretstown, Garryvoe, Coolmaine, Oysterhaven and three beaches in Youghal have all been impacted - with people advised to avoid the water.
Three of the affected beaches are designated Blue Flag.
Cork County Council is due to re-test the water on Monday.
