Body found in derelict building

A man has been arrested after the discovery of a body at a derelict inner-city building.

The remains of a man in his early 40s were found at the disused premises on North Wall Quay in Dublin shortly after 10.45pm yesterday.

It is suspected a row broke out at the building on New Wapping Street.

A second man, in his late 20s, also found at the scene was taken to the Mater Hospital. His injuries are thought to be non-life-threatening. Investigating gardai arrested a man in his late 30s at the building.

He is being held at Store Street Garda station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.

A Garda spokesman said: "The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the body remains at the scene.

"The office of the state pathologist has been notified."
