Boy, 10, stabbed during burglary in Cork

A 10-year-old boy is among three people who have been stabbed during a burglary in Co Cork.

The incident happened at about 11pm on Monday in the Glanmire Road area of Mayfield.

Two women, in their 20s and 40s, and a boy aged 10, received apparent stab wounds.

They have all been taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

An 18-year-old woman received minor injuries.

A man in his 50s has been arrested by gardai, assisted by members of the Regional Support Unit.

He is being held at Mayfield Garda Station while investigations continue.
