Cannabis seized at Dublin Airport

Herbal cannabis worth around 180,000 euro has been seized at Dublin Airport.

Customs discovered the 9kg of drugs, which had arrived in cargo from Spain, on Thursday night.

Two stun guns were seized in follow-up searches.

A Romanian national was arrested in connection with the seizure , which was made in the joint operation between gardai and Revenue.

He was being held at Store Street Garda Station while investigations were going on.

Elsewhere, Customs seized 35,000 euro in cash from two Irish men attempting to board a flight at Dublin Airport.

The men, in their 20s and 30s, who were trying to fly to Charleroi in Belgium, had hidden the cash on their bodies and in their luggage.

Officers were granted a three-month detention order by the Courts of Criminal Justice to carry out further investigations.
