Cavan post office raid: Two held

Two masked men armed with a hammer and a knife have threatened staff at a post office before making off with cash.

The men smashed a counter glass panel at the branch in Mullagh, Co Cavan, at around 12.15pm on Tuesday and demanded money.

They made their escape with the cash in a blue car towards Virginia.

Two men aged 42 and 30 were arrested a short time later in Bailieboro and are being held in the local Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
