Cocaine worth a million euro seized

Cocaine with an estimated street value of one million euro has been seized by gardai in Dublin.

Two women were arrested in the intelligence led operation against alleged drug trafficking from South America.

The suspects, aged 22 and 44, were taken to Finglas Garda station after their arrest at a northside hotel on Thursday evening.

A total of 14kgs of cocaine was recovered.

The joint probe involving the Garda National Drugs Unit and Revenue's Customs Service is focusing on cocaine trafficking where couriers are used to bring drugs from South America into Ireland.
