Cyclist dies in hit-and-run crash

A cyclist has been killed in a hit-and-run incident in Co Kerry.

The man in his early 40s was knocked off his bike in the townland of Scrahanfadda, Gneeveguilla between 8am and 10am on Sunday, said gardai.

Gardai closed the road for several hours to examine the scene.

Officers appealed for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the road between Killarney and Gneeveguilla to contact Kanturk Garda Station.

Elsewhere, a man in his 20s was killed when his motorcycle was in collision with a car in Co Galway.

The accident occurred on the Gort to Scarrif Road shortly after 10 am on Sunday.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene while two people who in the car suffered minor injuries.
