Cyclist killed in collision with 4x4 on bypass

A cyclist has died following a road accident in Cork.

The man, who was in his 30s, collided with a 4x4 vehicle on the Ballincollig bypass on Sunday morning.

The driver was uninjured but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed to traffic and local diversions were in place while Garda forensic collision investigators examined the scene.

The local coroner has been notified.
