Cyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run in Dublin

The 28-year-old man was taken to the Mater Hospital after the incident in the early hours of Sunday.

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a hit-and-run in Dublin city centre.

The man, aged 28, was taken by ambulance to the Mater hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The cyclist was hit by a vehicle at about 2am on Sunday in Parkgate Street outbound towards Conyngham Road.

Gardai said the driver failed to remain at scene and continued in the direction of Islandbridge.

Officers at Kilmainham garda station are appealing for anyone who travelled along Conyngham Road in the early hours of Sunday morning to contact them, as well as anyone with dashcam footage who was travelling the route or along the south quays, or anyone with information about a black coloured vehicle with damage to the passenger side.
