Driver killed in Limerick car crash

A motorist has been killed and his passenger injured in a car crash in Limerick.

The single vehicle accident happened at Curraghroche in Galbally at 2.30am on Sunday.

Gardai said the 24-year-old driver died while an 18-year-old passenger was removed to Mid Western Regional Hospital.

His injuries are described as not life threatening.

The road remains closed for a forensic collision investigation and diversions are in place. Gardai have appealed for witnesses.
