Driver sought over toddler hit-run

A three-year-old girl has had to be treated in hospital after a hit-and-run in Cork city.

Gardai are trying to trace the owner of the small red car, which had the partial registration 00 C.

A spokesman said the car hit the toddler in Carberry Grove, Knocknaheeney, on Sunday between 8.40pm and 9.40pm.

"The car stopped momentarily before driving away towards Courtown Drive and onwards to Kilmore Road," he said.

"The girl was taken to Cork University Hospital with minor injuries and has since been released."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gurranabraher Garda Station.

The driver of the car is described as being in his 50s, with grey hair and a grey beard.

He was wearing glasses and a vest top and jeans.
