Drivers killed in Co Cork collision

Two drivers were killed and a passenger left fighting for his life when their cars crashed in Co Cork.

The man and the woman both died after the two-car collision on the N25 at Courtstown in Glanmire, just after midnight.

The second man, a passenger in one of the cars, was taken to Cork University Hospital and is said to have critical injuries.

Gardai said the road remained closed while the scene was examined by Garda forensic collision investigators. Diversions were in place.

Meanwhile, a woman in her late teens was killed and six others injured in a St Patrick's Day crash.

The 4x4 vehicle she was travelling in hit a ditch on the old N8 between Kilbeheny and Mitchelstown, Cork.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to the accident, which happened shortly before 7pm.
