Driving ban for Conor McGregor
Mixed martial artist Conor McGregor has been disqualified from driving for six months and fined €1,000 (£883) for speeding.
The 30-year-old former UFC champion was travelling at 154kph (95mph) in a 100kph (60mph) zone when he was stopped in his Range Rover by gardai on the N7 at Blackchurch, Kill, Co Kildare on October 11 last year.
The Irish fighter apologised at a district court in Naas, Co Kildare, yesterday which was packed with many young fans.
McGregor has 12 traffic offences dating back to when he was in his teens and the judge said he was taken aback.
Judge Desmond Zaidan said: "Speed kills and that is what makes speeding dangerous."
