Dublin in fresh plea to end Northern Ireland political deadlock

By Staff Reporter

The Republic's foreign minister has said people in Northern Ireland feel let down by the lack of progress here on ending sectarianism and building reconciliation.

Charlie Flanagan TD will today urge parties in Northern Ireland to redouble their efforts to overcome the political impasse at Dublin's Reconciliation Forum, which brings together groups working to further peace.

Speaking ahead of the forum, Mr Flanagan said: "I know from speaking to community groups that sectarianism and division continue to blight communities across the North and that the past 18 months have been particularly difficult."
