Father of murdered young brothers appears in court

Sanjeev Chada has appeared at Swinford District Court, Co Mayo this evening, charged in connection with the murder of his sons, Eoghan, 10, and Ruairi, 5.

Sanjeev Chada (43) arrived at Swinford District Court in Co Mayo just after 9pm.

He was accompanied by detectives.

Chada had been questioned by gardai in Castlebar, since being discharged from hospital yesterday.

The bodies of his sons Eoghan (10) and Ruairi (5) were discovered in the boot of Mr Chada's crashed car, four miles from Westport, on Monday.

The boys went missing with Mr Chada after leaving the family home in Ballinkillen, near Bagenalstown, on Sunday evening.

Mr Chada was arrested at 12.30pm yesterday after being discharged from Castlebar hospital, where he was treated for superficial injuries sustained in the crash.
