Five arrested after cocaine and prescription drugs seized

Five people have been arrested after gardai seized cocaine, prescription drugs and a large sum of cash during searches in Ennis.

As part of Operation Thor, gardai carried out searches on Wednesday and recovered suspected stolen power tools.

Cocaine with an estimated street value of 6,000 euro, pending analysis, prescription drugs with a value of 1,000 euro and a large sum of cash were also seized.

Five people were arrested in connection with the investigation.

The operation was carried out by local gardai together with members of the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit, Roads Policing Unit, Ennis Warrants Unit, Community Police, Western Region Armed Support Units and the Limerick Divisional Drugs Garda and Dog, officers from Customs, Department of Social Welfare and the Road Safety Authority.
