Four held after cannabis seizure

Four men have been arrested and drugs with an estimated street value of 420,000 euro seized during a cross-border police sting.

The huge cannabis stash was uncovered in one of three cars stopped and searched by Garda detectives in Finglas, north Dublin.

As part of the ongoing operation, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) impounded another car north of the border.

Four men, aged 27, 29, 31 and 43, were detained in Dublin under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

Two are being questioned at Finglas Garda Station and two at Ballymun Garda Station.

Officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit and Organised Crime Unit stopped the vehicles in Finglas at around 4pm on Wednesday.

Around 70kg of cannabis resin uncovered in the operation has been sent for forensic tests.
