Gang dressed in uniform open fire at Dublin boxing event

Three men, reportedly dressed in police-style uniforms have opened fire at a boxing event in Dublin with at least one person seriously injured.

It has been reported three men burst into the foyer of the  Regency Hotel in Drumcondra in Dublin armed with what eye witnesses said looked like AK47s, and fired a number shots, leading to dozens of people fleeing from the hotel.

Early - and unconfirmed reports - indicate that at least two men have been seriously injured.

There is a large garda presence at the scene.

Dublin Fire Brigade have crews from both Finglas and Phibsboro as well as paramedics at the scene.

They tweeted: "We're responding to a serious incident in a hotel in Whitehall, crews from Finglas, P'boro + advanced paramedics [sic]."

On their Facebook page, the promoters MGM had advertised an official weigh-in for 'Clash of the Clans' Show at the Regency, which was due to begin at 2pm this afternoon.

MGM is a new Professional Boxing Gym in the heart of Puerto Banus, Spain.

The headline bout on tomorrow night's card is Jamie Kavanagh versus Joao Bento for the vacant WBO European Lightweight Title.

Tomorrow night's card at the National Arena in Tallaght was due to be broadcast live on Box Nation.
