A gas explosion has blown the roof off a house in Dublin.

Gardai are investigating the blast which happened on Sullivan Street in Dublin 7.

According to witnesses, the front of the house was also destroyed. Debris was blown onto nearby streets such as Infirmary Road.

Five fire engines, two ambulances, and numerous garda cars and police motorcycles raced to the scene.

Infirmary Road is now closed.
