Grief for sled death teen

Tributes have been paid to a popular teenager who died when her sled ploughed into a tree.

Aoife Downey (15) died and her three friends were injured in a Cork suburb on Saturday.

Fiona Shine of Douglas GAA club, where Aoife played camogie, said locals were devastated.

“Aoife was a very popular girl. She was fabulous,” said Ms Shine. “She was a great kid, a live wire. I'm just absolutely devastated.”

Aoife lived with her parents Sean and Siobhan and two young sisters in Frankfield, Cork.
