Homeless man suffers burns in car 'arson attack'

A man in his 40s has suffered burns in a suspected arson attack as he slept in a car.

Gardai said they were investigating the incident, which happened in Pembroke Road in the Ballsbridge area of south Dublin at about 11.15pm on Wednesday.

The man, reported to be homeless, was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

No arrests have been made and officers in Irishtown are investigating if the fire was started deliberately and a case of criminal damage.
