Homes evacuated after suspect device thrown at house

Residents have been evacuated from their homes in Co Louth after a suspected improvised explosive device was thrown at a house.

Gardai are at the scene of the incident in Drogheda.

It is understood the device was thrown at the house at around 11.30am on Monday in Rathmullen Park, but did not explode.

The device has been located at the property and the scene has been preserved.

The scene has been cordoned off by gardai while the army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team examines the area.
