Hunt after cash delivery van raid

Two men armed with an iron bar and an imitation firearm have held up staff from a cash delivery van.

The robbery on a cash-in-transit van happened outside the Lidl store in Blakestown, Co Dublin, shortly before 8am on Monday.

Gardai said two men armed with an iron bar and what is believed to be an imitation firearm approached the van and threatened a member of staff.

They fled with a cash box in a car, which was later recovered.

No one was injured during the incident and the car has been removed for a technical examination.

Gardai in Blanchardstown have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
