An Irish judge said that he was reminded of a rampage in a Michael Douglas film by the actions of a man in court who caused €12,000 damage with a wooden club in a computer store.
Christopher Gasper (38), from Charlestown, Co Mayo, told Sligo District Court he felt bullied by staff at Currys in Carraroe Retail Park, Sligo, when he had a complaint about a computer that wouldn't work.
Judge Kevin Kilrane said: "It reminds me of when Michael Douglas in 'Falling Down' started wrecking a shop."
Gasper pleaded guilty to criminal damage in Currys on January 10 and to possession of cannabis found on him the same day at Sligo garda station.
He was remanded on bail until June 13 for probation reports.
