Kenny to meet Canadian premier
Taoiseach Enda Kenny will hold talks with Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper before the G8 summit.
The Canadian government said the leader will also meet President Michael D Higgins during a visit to Dublin in the run-in to the conference at Lough Erne.
Trade and investment and international security challenges will be among the key topics on the agenda during talks with the Taoiseach.
The Canadian PM will be accompanied to Ireland by Jim Flaherty, finance minister, and Ed Fast, minister for trade.
He is also visiting London and Paris ahead of the G8.
Mr Harper said the Fermanagh summit comes at a time of weak economic growth.
"It is critical that members of the G8 meet to discuss these issues, and I look forward to meeting with my G8 counterparts to address matters such as free trade, tackling tax evasion, and encouraging transparency and accountability, particularly in the extractive sector," Mr Harper said.
"On international security, it will be crucial that we discuss co-ordinating responses to international security challenges such as the deteriorating situation in Syria and the ongoing threats posed by Iran and North Korea's nuclear programmes."
