Making a big speech - keep away from the hipflask
Nervous fathers of the bride or anxious boardmembers addressing fellow members are being encouraged to avoid a touch of the Dutch courage when they next make a speech.
Bumbling public speakers are being offered the chance to become great orators at a conference being hosted by 300 top speech makers including world champion, Mark Hunter from Australia.
The speech-fest, which takes place in Wexford at the weekend, is run by Toastmasters International and involves members from all over the UK and Ireland.
Toastmaster Mark Quinn told the Irish Daily Mail: “No matter how shy a person is we believe this conference will turn people around and help them be the best public speaker possible.”
He added that a key point was to “stay away from the Dutch courage”.
