Man (40) killed after being crushed to death in farming accident
The death of a man crushed by a JCB is being investigated by gardai and the Health and Safety Authority.
The 40-year-old was pronounced dead following the farm accident in Mourneabbey near Mallow, Co Cork, at 7.30pm on New Year's Eve.
The man is believed to have been feeding cattle when the incident happened.
The victim was discovered by a relative, but was pronounced dead when the emergency services arrived.
His body was removed to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem and the Health and Safety Authority alerted.
