Man arrested after woman shot dead

A woman has been shot dead in Dublin.

The middle-aged victim was fatally injured at a house in Killinarden Estate in Tallaght, gardai said.

Another woman, believed to be aged in her 20s, is being treated for non-life threatening gunshot injuries at Tallaght Hospital.

A man aged in his 50s was arrested at the scene and a shotgun has been recovered.

He is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at St James' Hospital.

The scene is preserved for technical examination and the state pathologist has been notified.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, a man aged in his mid 40s has been shot dead in Lucan, near Dublin.

The incident happened at a house in Earlsfort View, gardai said.

A burnt out car has been located in Glen Vale, Lucan. Police are investigating the possibility that it may be involved in the shooting incident.
