Man arrested in Nicola Collins murder probe

A 44-year-old man has been arrested over the murder of a mother-of-three, gardai said.

The man was detained in the Limerick city area in connection with the death of Nicola Collins and was taken in for questioning at Mayfield Garda Station in Cork city.

Ms Collins, in her late 30s, was found dead in a flat in Popham's Road in Farranree, Cork city, in the early hours of Monday.

The arrested man was being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardai said investigations are continuing.
