Man arrested over cannabis farm

A cannabis factory valued at 400,000 euro has been discovered by gardai.

A man was arrested after 700 cannabis plants and a quantity of the drug were seized in Baldoyle, north Dublin.

Gardai revealed the elaborate cannabis factory included lighting, feeding equipment, ventilation and irrigation systems.

The planned raid was carried out by officers from the Coolock Drugs Unit as a result of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the area.

The suspect is being detained at Swords Garda Station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

A garda spokesman said the seizure, subject to further analysis, has a potential street value of 400,000 euro.
