A man has died after he was shot while sitting in a car in Dublin on Wednesday morning.
The man was discovered by a council worker with a fatal gunshot wound to his head on Sheridan Court, near Dorset Street in Dublin's north inner city shortly before 10am.
A car was found burnt-out on Clonliffe Avenue earlier this morning. The Irish Independent reports that a gun was found in this vehicle.
The car that the victim was sitting in, a Volkswagen Golf, is registered to a man from Dublin's north inner city and Gardaí are now trying to trace his whereabouts.
The victim has not been formally identified.
The scene of the shooting is close to a hotel underground car park.
Gardaí will examine if this attack is connected to the Hutch Kinahan feud.
It's understood that the car the victim was shot in is registered to an innocent relative of a man currently wanted over a gangland murder.
The suspect went on the run after a member of the Hutch family was shot dead in 2016.
Now Gardaí are seeking to establish if the man shot today was murdered in retaliation for this.
A senior source said: "It is early days but Gardaí are now seeking to establish if this attack was carried out by members of the Hutch gang.
"If this does transpire then this would be a major development in the feud."
