Man dies after hit-and-run incident

A man in his 60s who was struck in a suspected hit-and-run incident in Co Galway has died.

The pedestrian was hit by a vehicle when he tried to cross a road in Ardrahan village on Friday night.

Gardai said the driver failed to remain at the scene.

The man died in University College Hospital Galway.

Gardai wish to speak to the occupants of what they described as a white van, possibly a Volkswagen Caddy, and a black-coloured car that were seen in the area at the time.
