Man dies after stabbing incident

A man has died following a stabbing in Cork.

The victim, in his 30s, was attacked on the Anglesea Road at around 2am.

The man was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

A man and a woman in their 20s were arrested near the scene and are being held at Bridewell garda station.

Gardai are now appealing for witnesses.

This was the second stabbing incident in Cork city in fewer than 48 hours.

A man in his 30s remains in a serious condition after being attacked in Fairhill on Friday afternoon.
