Man fights for life after stabbing

A man in his 30s has been left fighting for his life after a stabbing.

The victim was attacked at Hollyhill Lane in Knocknaheeny, Cork city, at about 5pm on Monday.

Gardai said no arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.

The injured man was taken to Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

A garda spokesman said detectives are appealing for anyone who may have been in the Harbour View Road and Hollyhill Estate area between 5pm and 5.30pm to contact them.

Gardai in Gurranabraher are investigating.
