Man held after drugs raid in city

A man has been arrested after detectives discovered cannabis and cocaine during a raid.

The drugs were found during a planned search at a house at Ashcroft Estate in Blackrock, Cork city.

Gardai from the divisional drug unit said they seized cannabis resin, smaller amounts of cocaine as well as cannabis grass.

The drugs have an estimated street value of 400,000 euro.

A quantity of mixing agent and drug paraphernalia were also seized.

A man in his late thirties was arrested at the scene.

He is being held under section two of the Drug Trafficking Act at Bridewell Garda station in the city.
