Man held after gardai seize haul of cannabis and cocaine

A million euro haul of cannabis and cocaine has been seized by gardai and customs.

The drugs were recovered in an industrial estate after a consignment was intercepted coming through Dublin Port on Wednesday.

Gardai said an operation was launched along with officers from Revenue Customs after a pallet of goods which contained suspected drugs was discovered being trafficked into the city.

A subsequent raid was carried out in the Ballycoolin industrial estate near Blanchardstown on Thursday and 150 kilos of suspected cannabis resin and three kilos of suspected cocaine were found.

Gardai said the drugs have an estimated street value of 1.1m euro.

A man in his 40s was arrested.
