Man held over Real IRA boss murder

A man in his 50s has been arrested over the murder of Real IRA boss Alan Ryan.

The man was detained in Dublin on Wednesday morning and detained at Coolock Garda station for questioning.

Ryan, the leader of a faction of the terror group in north Dublin, was shot dead as he walked with an associate on Grange Lodge Avenue, Clongriffin in the north of the city, on September 3.

The arrested man was being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
