Man questioned after huge drugs haul found in Co Offaly

A man remains in police custody following a 1m euro drugs bust in Co Offaly.

Cocaine, cannabis and amphetamine were found during a search at a house, sheds and land in the Geashill area on Wednesday.

A large quantity of 9mm ammunition, shotgun cartridges and a sawn-off shotgun were also discovered during the major Garda operation.

The raid was part of an ongoing probe into organised criminal activity in the midlands, gardai said.

A 34-year-old foreign national was arrested and is being held at Tullamore Garda Station for questioning.
