Man quizzed over Hanaphy gun murder

A 23-year-old man is being quizzed over the murder of Stephen Hanaphy in Ardee in 2010.

Gardai arrested the man in the Francis Street area of Drogheda this morning. He is now being detained in Dundalk Garda Station.

This was the ninth arrest made in the investigation into the murder of 20-year-old Mr Hanaphy, who was shot dead following a burglary.

The victim, from Cromcastle Court, Coolock, was killed after travelling with a group of men to Ardee in Co Louth, where the break-in took place.

He was shot just above his heart after fleeing the scene in the Sliabh Breagh Estate on October 29 2010.
