Man with shotgun arrested after gardai chase through Dublin gardens

A man chased by gardai through a number of suburban gardens was arrested after being caught with a sawn-off shotgun.

The 41-year-old was "acting suspiciously" in Ballygall in Finglas, north Dublin, gardai involved in an operation in the area on Wednesday said.

After being approached, he fled and officers chased him through a number of gardens.

Once apprehended, he was found to have a sawn-off shotgun as well as ammunition.

He was arrested at the scene and taken to Finglas Garda station where he is being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The operation was carried out by the Special Crime Task Force and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.
