Man's body discovered in house

Gardai are investigating the discovery of a man's body in Kilkenny.

The dead man, who was aged in his 40s, was found in a house at Fatima Place in the city.

The discovery was made around 7pm on Thursday night but gardai made an appeal for information on Saturday.

The body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post-mortem examination was carried out.

Gardai said the cause of death would not be disclosed for "operational reasons".

No other details about the dead man were released.

Officers appealed to anyone who was in the area of Fatima Place from Wednesday evening to Thursday evening or who can otherwise assist with the investigation to come forward.
