Man's body found after farm fire

The body of an elderly man has been found in a burnt-out farmhouse.

Firefighters were called to a blaze in the remote house in New Ross, Co Wexford, at 10pm on Thursday night.

Crews are making the building safe before the remains of the man, who was in his early 80s, can be removed.

It is understood the man was living alone at the property in Tinnecarrig, Newbawn.

A technical examination to establish the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious, is continuing.
