Pedal to Poland team near destination

A team of amateur cyclists are on their way to cheer the Republic of Ireland football team in Euro 2012 after almost 1,400 gruelling kilometres.

Team Pedal to Poland, which is raising funds for a number of charities, is a group of nine cyclists and huge Republic footbal fans who set off from Dublin on May 30 to support their team’s efforts in the European tournament.

The epic journey started out as a 1,500km trek but will reach up to 1,900km by the time the lads arrive in Gdansk.

The boys finally reach their destination on Thursday, just in time to cheer on the Boys in Green in their ambitious battle against Spain.
