Probe after boy found dead in field

A boy has been found dead in a field.

The youngster's body was found by a farmer in the Balheary area of Swords, Co Dublin.

The boy, who is believed to have been aged around 10 to 12, was fully clothed.

Gardai said it is not clear whether the death is suspicious.

The discovery was made at about 2.30pm and the farmer raised the alarm with gardai.

A doctor was called to the scene to examine the body and pronounce the child dead.

The garda technical bureau was also sent to the area to carry out forensic examinations, a garda spokesman said.
