A woman has been found dead at an apartment complex.

Gardai said the woman's body was discovered at Dorset Square in Gardiner Street in Dublin's north inner city on Tuesday night.

Gardai said the woman was 37.

The alarm was raised at about 11.30pm on Tuesday night when a call was made to Mountjoy station.

A 35-year-old man was found seriously injured in the apartment, and g ardai said he was rushed to the Mater Hospital for treatment.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a murder inquiry has been launched.

The State Pathologist's office has also been notified.

Gardai appealed for witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.
