Residents feel tremors as minor earthquake hits Donegal

An minor earthquake has been recorded in County Donegal.

The quake took place just off the coast before 7am, the National Seismic Network (INSN) has reported.

Measuring 1.5 on the Richter scale, the quake hit the Fanad peninsula, just north-east of the town of Milford

Locals in the area around Milford were said to have experienced slight tremors at the time. But it is understood the centre of the quake, off the Fanad Peninsula could be felt for several miles inland.

There have been no reports of anybody being injured or any damage caused to buildings.
