Roads flooded by heavy downpours

Some roads in the Dublin area have been flooded by heavy downpours.

Mobile phone signals have also been affected in Carlow, Clare, Cork, Dublin, Kerry and Wicklow.

Iarnrod Eireann says it is keeping an eye on the east coast high tide in case it causes further flooding.

Dart services have now resumed after being suspended for a time earlier due to flooding south of Dun Laoghaire.

Met Eireann has forecast further spells of heavy and persistent rain in eastern and southern, with a continuing risk of localised flooding.

The rain will become more widespread overnight into Sunday
